Carrier-grade QQSG 5000 series is QQ Tech’s self-innovated traffic management device working on application layer. Sitting on carriers’ MAN exit, the enabler enforces management efforts over network traffic on one POS link with 2.5G or four GE links.
It boasts multiple competencies: analyze global traffic; make traffic visible and transparent; control inter-net traffic and cut down on relevant expenditure; block access attempt of illegal VoIP and shared PCs; raise revenue via precise billing method.
The product pools a lot of strengths together—Intel created IXP2400, vxWorks operating system (a powerful platform playing effect in space industry), and tri-color bucket mechanism for traffic control and shaping, endowing it with unparalleled competitiveness: its max line-rate forwarding has hit 2G; you can in-line directly to your network without changing the original topology; its passive or optical bypass module allows it to turn on bypass in case of emergency. No single point fault would be resulted in even hitting by power off.
QQSG 5000 is more powerful compared with other peers: the bandwidth management offerings cover GE to 2.5G POS; provide remarkable support to interfaces of GE, SONET, OC-48, and SDH STM-16. The models, to be more specific, include 5140, 5180, 5440, and 5480; the power to manage bandwidth culminates in four links.
Fueled by sophisticated technologies, it is set to bring countless benefits to customers: DPI and DFI boosted identification accuracy has hit as high as 90% with some a thousand types of applications being identified so far; tri-color token bucket mechanism enables 1K of control granularity; RTM makes RTT, network and server latency measurable, a big help to pinpoint what is slowing down the web; ACK acceleration optimizes functions.

Application
1. Convenient inline access; improved system combat security threats of various forms.
2. As high as 90% of application types being identified.
3. Supportive of both static and dynamic reserving modes; bandwidth is available for occupying under dynamic mode.
4. IK of traffic control granularity.
5. Create as much as 700,000 sessions per second.
Four functions are built under the system.
1. Identification. Precise differentiation is the ground of precise management. With developing internet carrying more complex applications P2P in particular, port-based identifying approach has lost its power. QQSG5000 comes to fill in the blank by identifying 95% or more popular software and protocols widely used today such as download software, P2P streaming media, instant messenger, stock analysis software, game software, VoIP, Trojan horse, etc.
2. Analysis. Who consumed limited bandwidth resources? Who hindered the development of critical applications? Who is the biggest bandwidth user? These are questions that every net master eager to work out. QQSG5000 is proved to be helpful in this regard. With that in place, you can learn L2-L7 traffic statistics and useful information about bandwidth, subscribers, applications and their share of bandwidths and the like, preparing for control policies if necessary.
3. control. The next step, after mastering overall traffic situation, is to implement precision management. QQSG5000 gives you multiple policy choices to control or protect applications. The effect is supplemented by tri-color token bucket mechanism to achieve remarkable traffic shaping—1Kbps at present.
4. Report. Graphs and tables show traffic statistics, as long as one year, to customers to carry out possible alternative or better policies.
